Terms of use

Last updated: October 28, 2026

These terms are between you and Flex Music Labs LLC ("we", "us"), Batavia, Illinois, USA. They cover Tunody, our website where you choose a type of song, a piano and a length and get a piano song. You agree to them when you tick the box and press "Agree and continue" before your first song, and by using Tunody. If you don't agree, please don't use Tunody.

1. What Tunody is. You choose a type of song, a piano sound (or Auto, which picks one to suit the type) and a length. Tunody generates a piano piece and gives you a MIDI file and an audio recording of it. Every note is written by ComposerFlex's own musical rules, with random choices along the way. Each song's Info window shows the details it was created from, including its seed (the number it was created from) and the versions of ComposerFlex and PianoFlex used. A seed is not expected to give the same song with a different version, and we don't promise that any seed will give the same song again. No generative AI model is used. Tunody is free for now. Creating a song uses one credit. A free account starts with 20 credits. Each day (the day begins at 00:00 UTC), an account with fewer than 2 credits is topped up to 2; and each month, on the anniversary of the day you joined, your credits are topped up to 20. Credits do not add up or carry over, and have no cash value. The limits shown on the site, including the longest song, apply. We may add a paid subscription later. If we do, we will tell you before anything is charged, and nothing is charged without your agreement.

2. Your account. You must be 16 or older. Sign in with your email address (we send a one-time code) or with your Google account; there are no passwords. Give us a real email address, keep your sign-in safe, and tell us if someone else has used your account. One account per person. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

3. Your songs.

  • We claim no ownership of your songs. We charge no royalty and ask for no credit.
  • Songs created on a free account are for personal use only. You may not use them commercially. Personal use means use that does not earn money and has no business purpose: listening, practice, study, and your own non-monetized projects. Commercial use means anything that earns money or promotes a business: selling or licensing a song; using it in a monetized video, podcast or stream; using it in an advertisement, a game or app you sell, or work for a client; or putting it on streaming services or stores.
  • A song created on a free account stays personal-use for good. Subscribing later does not change songs you already created.
  • Commercial use comes with a paid Tunody subscription, once one is offered. Songs you create while subscribed, under the paid terms, may be used commercially. The paid terms will also say what happens to songs created while subscribed if the subscription ends.
  • ComposerFlex has its own license. The license that comes with ComposerFlex allows commercial use of music you create with that program. It does not cover songs created on Tunody.
  • Please read this part too. Music made with the help of software may sound like music made by others, and the law in some countries limits copyright in material made by a machine. We don't promise that a song is unique or original (two songs could, in rare cases, come out the same), that it can be protected by copyright, that a streaming service or distributor will accept it, or that nobody will make a claim against it. You are responsible for what you publish and where.

4. How long we keep your songs. The audio is kept for 7 days and is then deleted, within about an hour after that. The MIDI file stays in your account until you delete it or delete your account; you can download it. After the 7 days you can ask for the audio to be created again from your MIDI file. That costs one credit, so you need a credit to do it, and the new audio is also kept for 7 days. If you don't sign in for 12 months, we may delete the account and its files. We send no emails except sign-in codes (and any message the law requires), so we can't warn you before that happens. Download what you want to keep.

5. What you may not do.

  • Use bots, scripts or other automation to create songs in bulk, or get around the limits, for example with several accounts.
  • Scrape Tunody, or use its output to train a model that creates music or to build a product that creates songs like Tunody's.
  • Resell or share access to your account.
  • Try to break, overload or look into the service, or get into another person's account.
  • Break the law, or use Tunody to harm anyone.

6. Ownership of Tunody. Tunody, its engine, names and website belong to us. These terms give you the use of the service, not ownership of it. "Tunody", "ComposerFlex", "PianoFlex" and "Flex Music Labs" are our names.

7. No warranty. Tunody is provided "as is" and "as available". We try to keep it running, but we don't promise it will always be available, error-free or free of limits. Songs may sometimes be unusual or not to your taste.

8. Limit of our liability. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data or any indirect damage from using Tunody, and for a free service our total liability to you is limited to $100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer where you live.

9. Changes and ending. We may change, limit or stop Tunody, or change these terms; for a change that matters we'll show a notice on the site and may ask you to agree again before you create more songs. You can stop using Tunody and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. A suspended account can still sign in, see its list, listen and download, but cannot create songs. If we stop the service, we'll give notice on the site so you can download your files.

10. Law. These terms are governed by the law of Illinois, USA. Where you live as a consumer, the mandatory law there still applies to you.
